Should I add shadowing D.O. to my AMCAS application?

I am applying to both D.O. and M.D. schools. I have shadowed an osteopathic physician, and I was wondering if adding that experience to AMCAS would be beneficial or not. Any comment?

Absolutely.

Why not? I shadowed a couple of DO's and listed them on my AMCAS last year. Clinical exposure is good.

If you are concerned about mentioning shadowing DOs on your MD app, just say you shadowed a physician. I shadowed both MD and DO, but I think I only specified DO vs MD on my AACOMAS app (since they explicitly care). AMCAS I just said physician.

Yes. Designating the degree will not matter to MD schools. A physician is a physician is a . . . etc.
