I’m in the final semester of my post-bacc, currently taking upper-division biology courses.
I’m considering adding 1-2 introductory environmental science courses, which are known to be very easy and are offered online, to boost my cGPA.
However, I’m torn because I don’t want this to detract from the perceived rigor of my post-bacc work, as my coursework so far has been focused on medical school prerequisites and recommended upper-division science classes.
Would adding these unrelated 100-level courses seem like obvious GPA padding? On the other hand, isn’t part of the goal of a post-bacc to improve GPA?
For context, taking these courses would raise my cGPA from a 3.38 to a 3.40, which, while a small bump, feels significant in terms of crossing into the next decile psychologically
4.0 postbacc sGPA, ~3.8 total sGPA regardless if I add them or not. Those two classes don't count towards sGPA according to AMCAS guidelines.
