Hello..
I have been working on my application process since last summer, however I have not finished yet. In fact, I am in the toughest period ever in my life.. I am not trying to appeal to their sympathy,, but to be honest, I am having very hard time to cope since my parent's death last year.

Beside.. I've been doing internship/volunteering for over seven months so far.. My scores are..
2.88 GPA (I messed up so badly during last year..& recently graduated )
330 TS
310 AA

I know my scores are not very significant.. especially the low GPA 🙁
Should I still apply for this year? Does anyone know if there will be a higher chance for re-applicants, just in case that I will not be accepted for this year.

Thank you and I appreciate your posts.

Some schools do not like to see GPA <3.0. Were your grades high before last year? They make take the death of your parent into consideration. Also, it is pretty late into the season, and since most schools are rolling admission, that decreases your chances significantly. It doesn't hurt to try applying this cycle because some schools offer application/interview feedback and what to improve for next year if you decide to reapply. However, I would recommend you applying next year early on into the season, re-taking OATs, re-taking some pre-requisite courses you did poorly on over the summer, and your chances should be much much higher. If you reapply, schools may ask you about why during your interview.

I'm sorry about your parents 🙁 Apply this year and I don't know if there's formula for this but I think you will have a better chance as a reapplicant next year if you make some improvements. I finished my apps late January and I called the school like every other day to make sure they're working on processing my file and just to remind them how interested I am 😀 and I'm positive that did speed up the process..Also if you would consider going to Midwestern, the new program in AZ, you would have a shot I think given your stats and the fact that they started interviewing later than other schools. hope that helps.

To be honest, I don't think you have much of a shot at any school besides azcopt at this point.

With a 310 AA, you must have a few sections below 300 which schools generally don't like. And below a 3.0 gpa doesn't look good either.

At this point in the application cycle, a lot of classes are filling up, and schools are able to be a lot more selective to whom they offer seats for the coming up year.

I would not apply this round and take iVision's advice. At least retake the OAT and aim for 350+. If you recieved a C or worse in any pre-req, consider retaking it. However, you may be able to explain away bad grades and not have to reake courses if you do well on the OAT.

Apply next round, it will hopefully be easier with the centralized application process. It will give you time to really improve your application, and you will be early giving you the advantage.
