Hey everyone - I have been verified by AACOMAS and have my application all filled out. I took the MCAT in august and got a (7/7/8) 22 and I am retaking it this Saturday. Even though it is late in the cycle, I am going to still apply to some schools. I was wondering if I should apply before I get my retake MCAT scores back or wait until I receive them. Also, I am unsure if I have to submit both of my MCAT scores to the school? AAMC automatically gets them, but you have to send them to AACOMAS so I am unsure if I should send both or not. Any info would definitely be appreciated, thanks!! (~3.5 science and cGPA, bachelors in psych and bachelors in bio, great LORs have DO letter, TONS of research, 3 years including psych research, neuroscience and medical research at a hostpital, good EC's, Shadowing etc)

If you have the money...you can do it. I wouldn't get your hopes up this late in the game. Your best chance is to be waitlisted and be bought enough time to submit your updated MCAT score. You are unlikely to get in with current score.

Definitely prepare to apply early next year...hopefully with an improvement on the MCAT.

Agree with previous post. You will have to submit ALL of your scores. And most schools won't consider you for an II until they have your Retake scores. Which means that you won't be considered until late feb/march. I would wait and apply 1st day next cycle.

But... If you can apply if you WANT to, but best not to be a reapplicant bc you waited too long

If you apply in February (like I did) you will probably either:

A) Not hear back from the schools you apply to post secondary

B) Get an acceptance pending an open seat.

February applications are hard, but not impossible. I would def. suggest applying to both the ATSU's as they interview late.

One thing I have learned is things change from cycle to cycle.

KCUMB filled up seats by December this year. Last year they were interviewing late into the cycle.

I remember last year people were pissed when NOVA waitlisted a bunch of students. Normally a majority of people who interviewed there were accepted.

The advantage is even if the class is full at Kirksville and Mesa, they will accept you automatically for the next school year if they like you and a seat doesn't open. Even though it's not an acceptance for the current cycle, it's an acceptance regardless.
