Should I consider even applying to more pharmacy schools because I only applied to 2 schools (Howard and Maryland). I've gotten an interview invitation from Maryland and I don't know what's going on at Howard. My GPA isnt great being a 2.7 but I have strong LOR's with 8 months working in a pharmacy and I got certified as a CPHT in September. My PCAT is an 89 composite. Just wondering if I should have a back up plan ready just in case.

when you apply to many schools and they denied you, what are their reasons? they gotta have a reason or might i say AN EXCUSE for you? like Oregon Pacific, have a list and do not really know you overall or at all...and to them you're just a number...and most or all schools make sure they get your money before they mail out the denial letter!

i always wonder what people mean when they say "strong LOR's"...i mean, asie from semantics, they basically say the same things.

but anyway...your PCAT score looks fine, i'd spend a year taking classes full time at a local college and boost up your GPA/final 60 units GPA then reapply. Seeing as it is January 2008 already, you'll have Spring semester, summer semester, and fall semester '08 to put on applications.

Congrats on getting the interview to Maryland. i will tell you right now that with that interview, you have an equal chance of getting in as the next person over. You will have to perform stellar on your interview, but that's no different from everyone else. I should know, since I do assist with the admissions process for UMB.

If you are a strong interviewee, then by all means, be confident in yourself. Prep yourself well for the interview, be natural, look sharp, and be prepared to stun your interviewers. If you want a backup plan, go ahead, but getting an interview to Maryland is essentially equivalent to being given a chance to get in. Maryland levels out the playing field after you get an interview (I know that for a fact). So try your best, definitely be able to explain your circumstances, and practice ALOT. Good luck!
