Hey guys! Just a quick question! I'm applying to PCOM, LECOM, Western, and VCOM (and others!) and I was just wondering it is worthwhile to also apply to the branch schools of the 4 schools I listed above? Thanks!

Theres no reason not to unless you could not see yourself going to that school. The secondaries are pretty similar for the branches too

Specifically for LECOM , if you're applying to Erie/Seton Hill you only send in one application and list your preference. Your preference will depend on the learning pathways offered at each campus and location for the most part. Bradenton is a different application. Best of luck!

I live in Northern Virginia and attended the ShaDO Day event at VCOM (VA campus) back in April. Speaking with the admissions director herself, I asked the same exact question. The consensus seemed to be that if you apply to all branches you make yourself seem less committed to one or the other. This didn't make sense to me, but she explained it like if I apply to all three VCOM campuses, then I'm saying "I'll go anywhere that I am accepted" vs if I only apply to the VA campus then I'm saying "I am committed to this one program and that is the only one I want to go to." Now, I think that is bogus as all of us here will / already have applied to many different schools; but that is what she said. Might be important to note that the three separate campuses of VCOM operate totally independently of each other, and are almost like separate schools altogether. Not sure about the other schools you mentioned but that is my experience with VCOM.

For VCOM you can apply to all 3, but if you do you can only get an interview at 1 of the campuses. They basically choose which campus you would have the best fit at and then send your application there to be reviewed.

Source? Is this personal experience or just overheard from someone you know?

Source= applied to all 3 branches of VCOM. For your secondary (which is a universal secondary) they have you rank which campus you prefer/have ties to. Found this weird, so I called and asked if I would be hurt by selecting I liked all equally and they informed me of what I said prior. Interviewed and accepted at VCOM-Auburn and after I was offered an interview at Auburn I was no longer considered at the other campuses. @getfat

Wow thanks for the heads up! I was going to apply to all three campuses

anytime! If you are from a certain region near their schools just apply to the one school, but if you are from out west I would say apply to all and then make a case for why you applied to all. Thats what I did. (you don't have to pay 3 secondary fees just the one so its really not that much more to apply to all 3)

Thank you all for your input! I appreciate it very much! 🙂

Building off previous posts, if you accept a seat at Western Pomona or Western Lebanon, they automatically close your file at the other one, as you cannot hold seats at both schools. You can interview at both but can only accept one seat between the two.

Thanks for sharing! I didn't even know this! From what I've heard Auburn is more vibrant than the other two correct? Location is so important to me. I can't be somewhere that's "too" rural.

That just sounds rather dumb. Same could be said when we apply to other schools that are not considered a branch. I'm surprise that came out of an ADCOM. It sounds so silly.

Yes. The town of Auburn is amazing. I would have gone there in a heartbeat had I not gotten into schools I thought were "better" and "more established".

I know for ATSU you can apply to both campuses and get equal consideration at both. But they're very different in their mission so it's highly likely that you'll probably get interviewed at one over the other.

This is also the case with LECOM. You can interview at both (E/SH and B), but you can only hold a seat at one. At least that's what it was like in the past.
