Hi-
I am wondering if i should apply to more schools or if it is too late in the cycle.
Stats: 35Q (11PS 12VR 12BS)
3.11 cGPA and 3.03 sGPA in undergrad at Columbia
4.0 cGPA and 4.0 sGPA in masters program in nutrition at Columbia
ECs:
2 years of fMRI research (1 year during masters and 1 year remotely from CA)
-1 abstract accepted as a poster (and hopefully a pub really soon)
-1 year of work in clinical research at a Cancer Center on FDA drug trials
-Currently fundraising and raising awareness for a cancer charity by training for the SF marathon
-1 year as a class rep and class secretary (in master's program)
-Alumni liason for my master's program
-1 year of work at an Urgent Care Clinic
-1 full year and 2 summers of work with children with autism
-1 year of work as a paralegal (before I comitted to medicine)
-5 years of involvement in AA (controversial I know but getting sober is the reason why I had such a low undergrad GPA and high Masters gpa + MCAT)
-piano study for 13 years
I currently work at the Cancer Center and remontely for the fMRI lab at Columbia so I will have another year of each of those activities.
I have applied to the following schools:
Tufts: SS 9/6 AC: 9/27
UCDavis: SS 9/11
Georgetown: SS 9/20
NYMC: SS 9/20
Temple: SS 9/20
Washington University: SS 9/20 AC 10/3
Jefferson: SS 9/20
BU: SS 9/20
MT Sinai: SS 9/20
UCSF: SS 9/26
Columbia: SS 9/26
Tulane: SS 9/29
I was complete at all of the schools on the same day I submitted a secondary unless otherwise indicated.
Here are the rest of the schools I have secondaries for right now:
-USC
-UChicago
-UMichigan
-UMDNJ
-Georgewashington
-NYU
-FIU
I think I will submit USC and would submit the rest of the schools by the end of this week. I also applied to UCLA, UCSD, and UCI but haven't received a secondary or a rejection yet (bad sign?)
So, please chance me! And let me know if I should submit more secondaries.
What can I do to get in this cycle at this point?
Thanks!
