Should I attend this interview?
Started by Ebayit
Do you want to go to SLU? If not, just send them an email and say you've gotten accepted at the school of your preference.

What advice do you think we can give you?? If you like the school enough to consider it a possible place you will like to attend for the next 4 years then go. I am currently on 0 sleep and on the road to try and go to a interview even though I have multiple acceptances due to the simple fact that I can see myself attending said school if accepted and that's something only you can answer. If you want more specific info about the school then I would ask that but no one can answer the question you asked but yourself.

If there is a doubt then I would go and hopefully you will leave the interview with a better idea of how you would rank that school out of your current acceptances. (PS: Tempe rocks !congrats heard really good things about jeff As well).I mean, I've tried reading on the school-specific thread, and learning more about the school, but it really is hard saying I would definitely go there over Temple/Jefferson. But I would not rule it out of the realm of possibility
Then this will be your 3rd golden ticket to the chocolate factory. "Run for it Charlie! I would go! That school has alot of character and has been training physicians for over 150 years and represents alot to the poorer communities in Brooklyn. Kings county is a dam good hospital for trauma in the NY area. And from the docs I know from the area say the med students have a reputation of getting alot of hands on training. But I do agree the school looks beat up but appearance can be overlooked when you are getting dam good training . I would implore you to go to the interview to find out more or try reaching out to a current student. Alot of the bad mouthing I hear about the school is about its asthetics (which is crappy but not that important in the larger scheme of things) or the neighborhood which while not the safest isn't as bad as people make it out to be especially when you have your head screwed on rightI'm wondering the same thing about SUNY Downstate. I've read some pretty nasty things about it but also some good things so I'm really conflicted.
if you were accepted to SLU with a full COA scholarship would you go there?
The answer is the same as the one to your question

I see that said alot around here and I disagree with that thinking in deciding if to attend a interview especially in this case because OP doesn't know enough about the school to make that call. After attending the interview then he can weigh how much he values the school compared to the rest.if you were accepted to SLU with a full COA scholarship would you go there?

So I understand why this line of thinking is suggested for people in my situation, but there's also a 99.99% chance that this will never happen right? I mean obviously finances will ultimately play a decent role in my decision. And if a school gave me a full COA scholarship, i would have an incredibly tough time saying no to that just on the merits of the scholarship, so I think it's a little unfair to ask that
This is easy...Barbecue or Philly cheesesteak???
Hi everyone,
I have been fortunate enough to have been accepted at two US M.D. schools. I also recently received an interview at SLU and was not sure if I should go ahead and attend. Any advice would be appreciated! Also please do not quote this original post!
TBH, if I had an acceptance at Jefferson in hand I wouldn't go to very many more interviews, and def would not go to SLU.
That said, that is MY preference. I love Philly and a mentor of mine went to Jeff, and don't love Catholicism or the Midwest. Your perspective may be the exact opposite.

Screw that school 😛I'm wondering the same thing about SUNY Downstate. I've read some pretty nasty things about it but also some good things so I'm really conflicted.
Sorry!

I never quoted anything I just hit reply. No you're not, it's a genuine question and OP kindly asked for his/her post not to be quoted.
Unless you're dead set on going to one of the schools you got into obviously, I'd go on the interview. I had a similar decision to make recently and I decided to go on the interview because the way I see it, I spent so many years preparing for this opportunity to attend medical school, why would I limit myself now? You may go on the interview and love the city or love the people you meet, etc. Or you may not or you may not even get accepted. But you'll never now if you don't attend the interview.
Maybe you don't know what quoting means since you're new to SDN, but you did quote the OP.I never quoted anything I just hit reply.
Oh my bad. Can I remove the quotes?Maybe you don't know what quoting means since you're new to SDN, but you did quote the OP.
