I had three pre-December interviews at ASDOH, Minnesota, and Michigan. I also have another one coming up at Detroit Mercy on 2/10. I haven't heard anything from any of the schools that I interviewed at and I'm starting to wonder if I should be worried and start thinking about next year. My cgpa is 3.7 and my sgpa is 3.65 and my DAT: 19/19/17. Let me know what you think.

Your #s are good. I think you have a shot this year.

ASDOH is certainly weird. I do not know what they are doing 🙂

Michigan has not even offered me interview yet.

The other school I did not apply.

Did you get waitlisted at either school? Possibly call the schools and ask for your status/ show continued interest.

I got an email from Minnesota saying that I wasn't offered admissions in the first round but I might be at a later date. ASDOH sent me a letter saying they are still considering my application after my interview but that has been it.

Hmmph... Since these schools are still interviewing, my guess would be that they will start pulling up previous applications after all the interviews are conducted.

You have a shot!

ASDOH is very critical in selecting their students. They don't care about your stats that much. They're big on community/public service. They want 100s of hours of volunteering. They look at your personal statements and letter of rec very analytically.

Just keep in contact with the school. Good luck!

You definitely have a very good chance. I suggest that you call each individual school and ask to speak with the Dean and/or the assistant dean of admissions. You should follow up the call with a thank you e-mail as well as a few sentences that describe why you want to attend that specific school. If waitlisted, I recommend sending in a hand-written letter stressing why you want to attend that school/ why you want to be a doctor. Good Luck!

I don't know if I agree with this. You do not want to be a hassle or bug. I was at an interview and they said not to do this. They understand you are interested in their program or you would not have applied there. You had a chance to explain why you want to attend that school and why you wanted to be a dentist in the interview and personal statement. Relax, there is still time. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the input guys. This is my first time applying and I don't know how things work out. I'm sure everyone is kind of in the dark when it comes to admissions though. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope I hear some good news soon.
