So thanks to the early military match, I've already matched. After getting my butt kicked over the past 6 weeks with interviews and my 3rd year ob-gyn clerkship (I postponed it from third year), the last thing I feel like doing over the holiday break is studying my arse off for step II (which I have scheduled for about 8 days from now).

Is there any reason for somebody who's already matched to care about their step II score? I took the first test in the NMS step book, and got over 65% correct (didn't time myself though). Is that good enough to be able to pass step II CK? Does anybody care about step II scores after residency?

some fellowships may ask about your score, but it's doubtful they will really care.

I thought the military requires you to take the step 2 before AUG of fourth year and this will leave enough time for the board members to see your score for the military match. Anyways congrats and keep studying not just for step 2, but more importantly for intern year.

You at least want to be sure to PASS Step II. Also things could change in the future and you want a phat Step 2 score in case you want to transfer to a competitive specialty or something.

Thanks for the reply, the army actually gave me a waiver to take step 2 late. It was one of the perks of switching my obgyn rotation to my fourth year.
