Go to the stickied threads at the top of the mcat forum. The "30+ study habits" and general mcat sections are extremely helpful. Those books are good but there's too much to consider in answering your question straight out.

Thank you for your response swagster. I got a few questions though.

When you buy the Berkeley Review book, are the passages included in the book? If not are they for sale separately on the website?

Lastly, I just finished my first semester of my sophomore year and I have finished all of the prerequisites except physics 1 and 2, calculus I and II, and Organic chemistry II. SN2ed said that it is a bit too early for me to start studying so meanwhile what should I do? I am really bad at standardized test so I kind of want to start studying now.

You are a sophomore. Focus on learning materials extremely well and then worry about prep materials. Trust me, no prep book is guaranteed to make you do well unless you have a really strong grasp of materials.

I agree falcon. But what can I do if I took all my prerequisites at a local community college because of my financial circumstances?
I feel that I didn't learn deep enough to do well on the MCAT. This is why I am freaking out about it even my test date is 1-2 years away.

I have bought some books and hope to gradually learn and build up my knowledge on things that are tested. I don't want to be that student who takes the MCAT and get below a 20. I want to make sure I get into a MD/DO school even if it is the worst one in the US. I have read so many horror stories about students getting horrible scores and I don't want that to happen to me.
It is not that I did not learn anything when I took these prerequisites. I definitely learned alot. However I want to be exposed deeper and learn other materials that my professors possibly did not teach or go over.

Personally, prep books are not the way to go if you are trying to "learn" the materials. Berkeley Review is good for reviewing/hitting on weak areas, but that's only for someone whose exam is couple of months away (e.g. 3-4).

To learn the materials, use MIT Open Courseware or UC Berkeley Podcast. Physics may be slightly difficult with those since most physics at those schools are calculus-based. Still, the conceptual learning is extremely valuable.
