Should I cancel my BU interview?

My stats:

CA resident
Submitted to AADSAS 7/27
AA/TS/PAT/RC: 21/21/22/24
Interviewed at Western and UOP already
Received UNLV interview invitation

The reason I'm asking for feedback is because I recently read this thread and was very alarmed and concerned by its contents:

I don't want to get rid of this school based on a small handful of students/alumni of BU, but the things they spoke of are very concerning! Especially the favoritism and high levels of cheating...and lack of clinical experience. The posts also span over people who attended at different times yet they confirmed the same events happened. I'm hoping there are some recent BU grads or current students who can give me some more feedback on the school or maybe let me know if these cases are a little rarer than the typical BU dental class? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

You should go to your interview! I just had mine today and they explained so much. You have lots of opportunities to work with patients in the externships that they block out for you and in their APEX program. I think you should form your own opinion on the school, and go there and see what they have to offer.

I agree. Also keep in mind that every school has problems. Seriously, even the "good" ones. Some schools just hide their dirt better than others.

is BU at the top of your list? if so, keep your pre dec.

if you're still interested in the school, but would prefer other schools, change it to a post dec. simple as that. with those stats, there's no doubt you'd get in regardless of a pre/post dec. interview. good luck!

i would go just for the sake of it. there is no guarantee that you will get into those other school you've interviewed.

Since U of P is one of the schools you interviewed at, I wouldn't go to BU unless you are not sold on Pacific. Since an interview there is nearly an acceptance, its different than most people wondering if they should cancel a future interview.

However, rather than outright cancel I would ask to move it to after Dec 1 just to be safe.

I ended up canceling and will reschedule in January (unless I get in elsewhere)
I have 8 interviews aside from BU so I'm fairly hopeful that I will get in somewhere else 🙂
