Hello my friends ,
I am junior in a college here in NY 🙂
Telling the truth I don't like the university im attending right now, shortly it doesnt give too many opportuinities for my major being a premed , also I dont like the why how preffesor are here, they dont help you enough and beside that school it's so small and I dont have many options to pick my professors, they are olny 5 or 6 for all science classes 😛 yes weird but true. I m considering transferring but since I am a junior I don't know what to do, Another reason which is important it's that im not doing great in this college im doing horrible so I though I should change schools and start in a new environment and getting ready for my future 😎 from there. I think I may be a little depressed from this school so sorry if anyone from you is getting annoyed from my post lol 😳 🙁
So basically that's my question 😛 is it okay if you are a premed and transfer? Does it seem bad ? And, Is There anyone out there who did transfer during undergrad. ? 🙂
Thank you 🙂 😉
Oh and I have around 80 credits but I haven't taken all pre req yet . I still have more to go.:luck:

Sorry to be frank, but the reasons you have bad grades are your own. Small schools tend to be better. You have more one on one time with the instructors. At the same time, if you start of bad than the teachers could already have an opinion of you. Secondly, you do not need to be premed in order to get into medical school. Premed will probably make your undergrad harder than it needs to be. Especially, if you are not doing well in school already. A change of schools worked well for me; however, I think the more important thing is that I had a break and matured. You can definitely turn it around. I have!!! But you have to realize it is not your school or your professors. Students who really want A's will get an A no matter what. When you get into that state of mind. Nothing can stop you.

Things you will have to think about.
Will transferring cause you to graduate later?
Do you need to go to school for an extra year or two in order to make up for the bad grades?
Are you sure, you have grown enough in order to take on premed or a new school?
If you are doing bad in school already, what makes you think you can handle premed courses?
You seem to have a lot of excuses, the truth is
a larger school will mean less help from instructors
you will not be able to pick professors in med school
the biggest reason for your grades are YOU,

I am not saying its impossible. I have turned it around. I had a .27 GPA at my first university. I completely turned it around and have a 3.5 cgpa and a 3.92sgpa. But my biggest problem was myself not everything I blamed it on.

Good luck!

If you are not comfortable there transfer why not it may help you academically at your grades etc. It worked for me tho
G.LUCK 🙂

1) Yes

2) no. I have students who have attended several different schools.

Just some friendly advice here: do try to improve your spelling, and talk to a therapist about your depressed feelings. No man/woman is an island.

Not trying to be a jerk, but your username alone explains why you're in the situation you are in.

I went to a small university with only a handful of science professors. I never picked a prof based on who's easier... I suggest you get out of that mentality. You really need to consider buckling down, studying hard where you're at, and get some help if you can't focus properly for some reason.

I went to a small state school in NY for 3 years. I was going to be a senior there this coming fall, but a few weeks after school ended, I was advised by another school to apply for their medical imaging program and I was accepted, so I'm transferring and going there for 2 years. It's only an associates, so I'm going to get my bachelors in biology so I can get my prereqs done and have a 4 year degree. From there I will apply to med school. Left my state univ. with a 2.7. It's all my fault. I left there with about 105 credits. I think it's the best choice, because it didn't have what I wanted and my grades suffered there because of the culture and the lifestyle I partook in. I have another 4 years ahead before I start applying to med school, but long story short, I'm transferring as a senior.
