After applying to med schools in the 2020-2021 cycle I have yet to get an interview. I have clinical and research experience (volunteer EMT for 3 years and research tech for 2.5) and a 514 MCAT. The area my pre-health advisor suggested I work on is my GPA (sGPA 3.35, cGPA 3.50). She suggested that I do an SMP, but I have read some conflicting opinions about them and would like more feedback. Unsure of how to proceed this year, will an SMP really help?

Sorry to ask, but are you URM? If so, then apply. If not, then SMP is probably needed especially for MD.
