should i do dit 3-4 times?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i've done it twice already, and just started the 3rd time. i think its good as a way to make it thru FA, and integrate the material. it only gets more solidified. Now, I've done other reviews, i.e. Pathoma, Goljan(partially), and some Kaplan in between, so don't make it your ONLY review.

No as in it wont help? or No as in doing it 3-4 times isn't an overkill?

No as in don't do it three to four times dude. I think your time would be much more better spent doing it once and spending the rest of your time doing Qbanks.

True thanks for the reply man. Yeah honestly thats what i was thinking but recently I heard about a few people that just did dit 4-5 times along with uworld and got in the 240's so I was thinking twice about it

That isn't a great yield. I did it once and Uworld once and got a 234. So, if I repeated it 4 more times I should be where...270s?

Trust, if I had to go back I would even have scrapped DIT. I could have done exactly the same thing as DIT in my own time (i.e. reading through FA in 10 days or whatever) or optimised my UWorld time better/started another run through.

Good point. You went to medschool in england? Problem is I went to a very crappy medical school, so had to teach myself everything. I'll be honest I had to relearn a lot of things once I finished and started step 1 prep.

Yeah, went to school here. Did step 1 at the end of 4th year going into our fifth and final year. Had to teach myself practically everything too.

Congrats man! You're almost there. I'd love to be in that position!
So you don't feel like you wouldve learned anything new/learned some missed points if you wouldve repeated dit a second or third time right?

You'll be there soon 🙂

Personally, no...I don't think I got a lot out of DIT.

Thanks man! 🙂
Guys keep posting your experiences with DIT if you've done it once or more than once!

Good grief, please don't do DIT multiple times.

I thought DIT was somewhat helpful in that it helps synthesize the material and presents the material in First Aid in a slightly different way, which is a nice change of pace. That said, it's not terribly efficient. It leads to you taking 15 days to get through FA, which by the 3rd or 4th pass or whatever you're aiming for is a lot longer than it would take you to simply read it yourself.

I'm a dental student, so I literally have to teach myself practically everything with no background. I have 6 months to prepare and currently going through FA Step 1. I hope to have it finished in 3 months, to give me 3 months to prepare using supplemental material. Anyone have any tips? Should I finish my first pass of FA quicker than 3 months?
