I am a post undergraduate(non-science major when I was an undergraduate) pre-med student. I am taking cell biology now. I got a 73 and 66 on my first two tests. I still have one more test and a final left. My sGPA is 3.58 so far. I really do not want to get a C or B- on my transcript but I already have 2 withdraws on my current transcript. ( My undergraduate school is in quarters so I did not realize summer classes in semester school cram a 16 weeks class into a 5 weeks class loads. I end up dropped the classes because I want to keep my gpa)
So if you are me, will you drop the class or will you stick with it? Thanks

Drop, W>C. But you really need to retake every class you get a W in and get an A.

I would think that a W is far worse than a C, as they really tend to raise red flags. You should really look at how the course grade is calculated--how much is one test grade worth? Is each test grade based on a curve?

If you continue to attend lecture, ask questions in office hours, and really take the time to understand the first two tests, you should be set for the final exam, which, I'd assume, is worth a good portion of the final grade. The worse thing one can do in such situations is get discouraged. The class is certainly not over, and you have plenty of time to understand the material and pull up your grade.

Good luck :luck:

I completely disagree. Especially with your already bellow average GPA. Assuming that the class isn't curved so that those low test scores will will be higher, I'd definitely take the W over the C.

I'm in a similar situation to you in that I'm prolly going to get a W in orgo. In all, it really depends on whether you are a risk taker or rise-averse. A C would really kill your sGPA, and its too risky to have that happen.
