I have been accepted to OSU and UVA and CWRU, and I'm trying to decide whether or not to interview at the University of Colorado in December. At this point I'm just trying to decide whether it's worth it to take off from work and fly out to Colorado (from Ohio) for this interview, knowing that I've already been accepted to three other good schools.

Current students, how are you liking CUSOM so far? If you have friends at other medical schools, how does CUSOM compare?

My main motivations for applying to CUSOM are 1. It is in Colorado (I LOVE the outdoors!) 2. My best friend is applying to vet school in CO and it would be nice to stay close.

On the other hand, it's very expensive and not ranked as well as the other schools I have been accepted to.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I interviewed at Colorado and just be aware there is no instate tuition even if you become a resident, (i think your aware of the cost already). (65k tution )

What I loved about the school was the campus ( its really amazing, beautiful, a city/city, many oppurtunties). The city has so much to offer (both denver and aurora are amazing and so many things to do outdoors and indoors. Not sure about OSU,UVA, or CWR, but I don't think any of those cities can compare to denver/aurora. It's ranking isn't any significantly worse than OSU/UVA/CWRU. Can't really speak much about the curriculum as not a current student, but its combination of lecture/pbl/tbl if i recall.

I'm currently accepted to SLU, and it would be a really close decision if I got accepted at colorado because of those factors.

Assuming you have instate in Ohio, if you are considering going to UVA/CWR over OSU even with the tution, then i'd definetly consider attending the interview at Colorado.

It's worth the flight to find out. You might fall in love.

Reviving this thread... Same question (should I interview at CUSOM) but different school accepted to: U Michigan. Would you go to Colorado to interview? Program def appeals to me (the CO springs thing and longitudinal integrated clerkship thing is interesting), and Denver seems nicer than Ann Arbor. Otherwise, I loved the Michigan feel and curriculum and research. Like OP, just not sure if worth the cost to go interview and if it would be better to give someone else the spot. Pretty much the reason i am considering it is because of the quoted post ("you might fall in love"). thx for any advice!

yeah.
Like, if you love to ski and chill, go to CU and let someone else be an Ann Arbor gunner.

Haha, thanks. I do love to ski and chill...and I do love Colorado, and what I know about the school. Gonna go to the interview.

Does Michigan really have a non-chill/gunner reputation?
