should i honor transcript abbreviations for coursework?

ex. if a course appears as Princ. of Biochem: Molec Bio, should I trascribe it onto AMCAS exactly as is or put it as Principles of Biochemistry: Molecular Biology?

also, my university has a system of freshman writing seminars, for which it sends letters indicating
its equivalency to an english course. i happened to take mine in a non- english department.
should i put it under the ENGL category or under the department in which it took place?

I would suggest you enter your courses exactly as they appear on your official transcript, abbreviations and all. If those courses appear as non-English, then I would put them under the department that appears on your official transcript.
