I will be transferring to a 4-year university in spring 2012 and I am not quite sure what I should major in. Based on the classes I have taken, it would be wise for me to major in Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Cell/Molecular biology. I am trying to pick one that will accept most of the credits that I took at my community college but most of the seem to accept the same amount. However, for example, I would really like to keep my GPA high and maybe major in biological sciences instead of chemistry. If I do this, I won't need to take anymore math and chemistry.(I will have calculus I and II done along with organic chem I and II when I transfer) but I would need to take differential equations and linear algebra and physical or analytical if I decide to major in chemistry. I know that I will need to take some upper level classes like microbiology, physiology, biochemistry but I don't want to risk my GPA if I don't need to. At the same time, I am afraid that If I can't get into any dental school, or other professional schools like pharmacy, PA, Medical, or Optometry, I will be stuck with a biological science degree which pay really low. Again I am not doing this solely for money because I have always liked science and I want to work in the medical field.

biological studies would be best. just take your uppers in biochem, micro, cell bio etc. If you pick a more focused degree you will probably have more work to do for the DAT.

If I were you, I'd go for Biology. Try your best to get As and Bs.
You said you like science but you dont want to take Biology courses?
Biology is more fun than chemistry lol.

I do like biology more than chemistry. I don't have a problem taking anything that doesn't have "chemistry" word in it:laugh:

There goes your answer

Biology is a great pre-dent/pre-med major. If I went back in time 10 years... I'd do my B.S in Biology
