Hello SDN,

I'm in a predicament. I volunteered ~30 hours at a local humane society about 2 years ago. I asked them for my hours recently and they told me they delete the logs of volunteers who do not show up within 6 months. I forwarded the email of when my orientation began and I asked them if they were comfortable vouching for me if AAMC asks for verification, but I have yet to receive a response. I talked to my advisor about it and he said I should go ahead and list it because I have evidence of when I started and their employees stating they delete records. However, I'm not sure what I should do...I doubt AAMC will check a measly 30 hours at an animal shelter, but I don't want to go through this process thinking that they will blacklist me for lying (even though I'm not!!) I really wanted to include this because I love animals and the only other volunteering I have is 75 hours at a clinic.

What should I do? I wanted to submit my application today 🙁

Thank you!

List it, dont worry about, it wont get you black listed, submit

What if they verify and the contact says they don't have any records of me? Am I being paranoid? 🙁

It happens with frequency and the contact there will say will delete records after 6 months. See my signature quote; it isnt there to be solely humorous

I volunteered 120 hours in college, but they purged those files when they went digital. I called and they said they wouldn't confirm that I completed any hours. Can I still put it on my application too?
