Should I make a facebook?

Is anyone making a facebook to join the accepted groups? I really don't want to as I like retaining a 'lowkey' online presence (only have an IG now, which was wiped for app season), but I feel like I might miss important announcements.

For those that have joined a group already, has it been useful? What things are typically discussed?

I don’t think they put very much “important” information on there, but I found it useful for meeting my classmates before the school year started. It might be nice for your social life during the summer before school starts.

It might be helpful to get to know your classmates and where they are going to live etc.

I don't have facebook and it's not necessary. Most classes use apps to communicate since they don't require profiles that not everyone may have (like facebook). Being disconnected from social media is, in my opinion, one of the best things a human being can do for themselves.
