Should I mention my GPA trend on my secondary application?

I received a 4.0 my first semester in college, then had a rough semester and got a 3.5, but then had 4.0's from then on. Should I mention this?

I would not. I think it would only be a appropriate if you say something like oh that semester was rough because *loved one* was in hospital, but I wanted to become a doctor because of it. Other than that a 3.5 is not "bad"
