Should I mention singing (at open mic nights) on my application?

I'm wondering if I should list singing as an activity on my application. I am not in a formal group, however, I do perform at open mic nights and I practice regularly (like at least 3 times a week, by myself, in a practice room). I was considering joining a community choir so that my interest would at least havea bit more authority but I'm already juggling so many other ECs that I'm not sure if it is worth it to try and cram it in. I'm sure it would be fun though.

Any advice?

yes; include your singing talent 👍 self taught or not, it your talent and you should be proud of it 😀 when you get accepted into med school, who knows? you might be asked to perform at the talent show!

I sang in an a capella choir in college and mentioned it on my med school application. I also sang in a med school a capella group and mentioned it on my residency application. Singing is cool. I would mention it.

another vote for yes. it makes you a lot more interesting than the next clone.

please don't think it leaves you open to being asked to sing on interview day. they know you're not trying to get into Juillard 🙂
