Hi everyone, I'm applying to medical school and realized that some of the schools I'm interviewing at require biochemistry. I have not taken it yet. These schools are very difficult to get into (being vague for anonymity) but also could be top choice for me. I'm working full time right now, and the options would be to take an online course in the spring (most flexible, cheapest) or in the summer. The issue is, I won't know if I'm accepted into these schools as they're non-rolling into March. So if I did get in, I'd be swarming to find a summer course near my place, and I can't find anything. Plus I don't want to spend the summer before medical school taking a class.
The other option is to sign up for a course this spring semester which will be online and cost me between $1000-$1500. The thing is, this money would be a waste if I found out I didn't get into the schools that required this course in March. But it would save me a lot of headaches if I did. Again, these schools are super reach schools and even with an interview, I may not get in. I'm working full time so I could throw down the money but I'm draining all of my savings right now. 🙁 What do you think I should do?
