we're on an on-line forum that is used for information - not critical decisions pertaining to where you'll be spending the next 4 years of my life.

you'll ALWAYS get varied opinions on both schools - some people telling you that there experience at BLAH was better and some telling you the other school was better.

So which do you pick? The one YOU liked better you douche-bags. You have to evaluate a bunch of **** and then decide. Stop being wish-washy, fickle, underdeveloped teenage school girls and play your cards the way you got them. I 100% agree with you shawty head, although I would not have cursed that much.

One thing I noticed with threads about "this school vs that school" is that they are always top schools. It is always about Harvard vs Wash U, Cornell vs Pitt, Penn vs Columbia....etc.

You get the feeling that these people want to show off their accomplishments.

On one hand, you understand their feelings because they must have worked very hard, but on the other hand, it is annoying.

Couldn't agree more! I chose the school I go to now based on an SDN poll I created, and I've regreted the decision ever since! If 2 more people had voted for Johns Hopkins, I'd be so much happier now!

first off:
you're right this is an anonymous forum - but let's be real. you're not going to decide on which school mainly because ANONYMOUS/RANDOM people are giving you ANONYMOUS/RANDOM advice.

second, i'm bored off my ass at work. i want to read these threads trying to pick up some legitimate information. not some clown writing 'i'm so confused about where to go...siiiiiiiiiiigh' and asking for advice from kids he knows by their avatar.

I wouldn't find the "where should i go" threads as annoying if people actually listed what they liked about each school and at least appeared to put some thought into the decision-- and I'll actually respond to these types of threads. But a lot of them just list schools and that's it. I mean come on. How are we supposed to help people if we have no idea what's important to them or what they are looking for in a school?

thank you for the complication of lists which compeltely antagonises every one of the ideals i've built this thread on. you've indeed succeeded in closing me in a corner.

However, i'll respond in saying that it follows suit that there are plenty of applicable places I could waste time (life goes beyond SDN my friends) - therefore I do require threads to be somewhat pertinent.

and i'm not whistle-blower - i mind my own biz usually. but these threads are ludacrious (scheme scheme plot plot, i'm goin' for that numba one spot!) on myriad levels.

Mostly, this thread was created to vent anger against those that make these threads mostly b/c this input won't be necessary since these decisions are necessarily personal.

in terms of wasting time - i still prefer to gain some knowledge when doing so. i won't stoop so low to read these threads even if i have the time to do so (could rather be rubbing one out in the bathroom to penelope cruz or playing the classic game i will provide the link to below)....
