So I'm doing bedside training to be an ED scribe, and I'm not 100% sure that I will pass. Would it be a bad idea to put that I'm a scribe trainee on my primary? Like if I don't pass I'll have to say that to the adcoms at some point right? But at the same time I want to let them know that making the effort to have a gap year job...

Also, if I do list this, then what should I put for my end date? It seems like the "to present" option is gone now. How is everyone doing this?

Thanks!!!!!

Edit: I'll find out in July whether I pass

You're getting paid (even if you don't pass), so yes, put it under employment.

Which company? possibly @SACH ?

Same with me doing a similar one month training program and hoping to work during my gap. I wish I knew a good way to reference it so they knew what I was planning, not just how it looks like my life ends June 2013.

If anyone knows an appropriate way to throw this into a primary, please about it out.

Just list it as the day you submit and then make a note of it in the description...ex: I will be engaged in this activity throughout the 2013-2014 application cycle

Like if I'm submitting today, June 12, 2013.

Description: I'm currently in this class, and once I pass the national registry, I plan on filling my time with this as well as the other activities I've indicated?

And did you mean use an entire primary slot for it? I only used 13, so I could, but I would hate to throw in a superfluous 14th that makes someone chuckle at my silliness .

If you have another active clinical role listed, you could tack mention of this onto the end of that narrative, or alternatively make brief mention somewhere in the PS.

Yeah same... I moved away from where I did my undergrad so it looks like my life ended May 2013. So are you going to submit your primary today?

Yup submitting hopefully in 4-5 hours. I may do what was recommended to me above and just mention it. Likely wont be verified before the 28th now sadly. I looked at last year's data, and 8 days past looked like verification on the 29th and we have that delay to the 10th that occurred, so less verification.

Oh really 🙁( I'm hoping to submit today as well, if all goes well. We could pre-write secondaries and send those in early! 🙂

Relax. Most secondaries won't be coming out until mid-July to August anyway.
