Should I reapply to a school that I am waitlisted at?

Hi everyone,

So I am currently waitlisted at a school from the 2015-2016 cycle and am in the process of applying for the 2016-2017 cycle. Should I reapply to the school that I am waitlisted at now, or should I wait until around august when they have made a final decision on my application? I'm worried that they may see that I am reapplying and so may not give me a seat for the 2016 entering class. Thoughts?

They WILL see that you're reapplying and will want to know what you have done to make yourself a better candidate.

Thanks for the replies. I have mostly been shadowing and working in my family business since my last cycle though I didnt include the latter in my application as I already filled the 15 AMCAS extra curriculars and thought they wouldnt give much weight to it since it is my family's business. Can reapplying negatively affect my current cycle?

Tough call. In general, I think that you would def want to reapply, but I can understand your concern that it may hurt you for this cycle. I think I'd go ahead and reapply, as this is very common and in most schools, it doesn't hurt your chances for the previous application.

Probably my MCAT and GPA, but my GPA actually went down from my first to my second cycle and I got 2 more interviews my second cycle than I did my first. I'm hoping an early app this year can give me the advantage I need to get some interviews and acceptances should this waitlist not work out.
