I have seen interns following anything from 2-5 patients per day. No matter how little or how many patients they have, it seems to take all day for the work-up and busy-work.

I clicked on the titled which was asking whether or not you should release a lower Step 2 core and it brought me to this message. Weird.

i generally recommend that sub-I's on the floor service take no more than 3 patients, ideally 2. Start with 1 and build. With two patients and a med stud knowledge base, you'll have plenty of time to learn, read, and be really thoughtful about your patients.

Agreed. It's much more impressive to take just a couple patients and know EVERYTHING about them and what the latest and greatest of treatment is than to stretch yourself too thin and only know a little about a bunch of patients.
