Hello everyone, I am new to this site and it has been really helpful to me. Here is my problem...I have a 3.57 GPA and took the April MCAT...lets just say that I did horrible because I was taking some tough classes at that time and did not get to study much. My score is: PS-8, VR-6, and BS-6 🙁 . I am definetely retaking the MCAT's in August and have been preparing for it during the summer. I am pretty sure that I will score way better than before. I have already filled out AACOMAS and submitted it...the only thing I need to update is my MCAT scores. So my question was, should I go ahead and release my scores to AACOMAS or should I wait till I get the August scores back?. I am planning on applying to 12 different D.O schools...and I know its better to apply early. But I don't know what to do in this situation, because if I wait till August then I do not want to delay my application. Can someone please help me out with this. Thank you very much...also sorry for making this so long.

I'd say wait for the August results. GPA's good though.

Can you do that?? I am in the same situation with a similar score but I thought you couldn't withhold information. Dont' we have to release the scores?? If not that sucks because I already did =(

I was under the same impression so I released mine too 🙁 --and yes I bombed the April one too.

regardless...schools will see your MCAT score...When you score higher on the mcat and release your scores later...they will still see your first score...so it doesnt really matter

Yeah the schools will eventually see all your scores but if you bombed your first test it may be beneficial to put off releasing your scores. That is, a really low score may get your application tossed before you even take your August MCAT. Thus, if you had waited until August to release your scores (both at once) you could have avoided that situation--assuming you scored well on the August test. Some schools will place your app on hold for an August MCAT, some won't. Calling them is a good idea to find out.

A 29Q doesn't look like a "bomb" to me. I wish I could "bomb" the MCAT that well!!! Fishing some?

No, had you read my profile you would see that those were the scores from my last TPR test before the real MCAT. I did bomb the real thing, I just haven't updated MDApps yet-I think I'm still in shock at just how bad I did on it 🙁 Had I gotten a 29Q on the real one I wouldn't be retaking it in August.

Hello guys, I have a question. I am planning on retaking the MCAT in August like many of you. I was wondering if I should include it in the application.
thanks

I did--I had already submitted my application as I anticipated a score at least close to my practice tests. I scored really low though on the real MCAT so emailed AACOM right away and let them know I would be retaking it in August and asked if they could add that to my application. They added it about 2 days later.
