I took both nmbe tests within the last 6 mos. Based on my scores, i decided to delay step 1 and study for another month. My question is should I repeat the assessments? Would the predictive value be as accurate? Are these tests updated frequently?

They're not updated at all. You'll be taking the same exact test.
