So this has to do with the question "what actions have you taken to improve your application." The action I'm not sure whether to mention is retaking the MCAT. I did retake it, but did not improve my score. However my breakdown in the subjects was uniform as my previous MCAT, so I'm proud of that. So should I mention my MCAT retake as an action to improve my app?

when you say that your "breakdown in the subjects was uniform as the previous MCAT" do you mean that you improved 1 or 2 points in one section while in the other section you dropped 1 or 2 points so your recent mcat score is the same as the previous one? if so i would mention that my mcat section score improved 🙂

point out what you did differently in order to achieve that improvement on the mcat.

but i would also mention other things that you have either improved or started&accomplished. for instance published a research paper/presented a poster (academic wise) or started shadowing a physician (extracurricular wise). you can also mention how your gpa (either overall or science) has improved since the last time you applied 👍

You retook the MCAT to improve your score but you got the same score. Certainly happens, and it's good you didn't get a lower score, but what is it about this you are proud of?

Did your effort duplicate an already good score you were trying to boost, or did you repeat a mediocre one? If the latter, I'm not sure any adcom will share your joy.

Schools will see that you retook it, and they will see both sets of scores. Unless you got a 40 both times and just wanted to show it wasn't a fluke, it's probably not worth calling attention to.
