Hi all! Looking for advice for my school list. I am 3 years out of undergrad and am committed to applying this cycle, but also keeping in mind that my MCAT may not be strong enough for an MD program. Looking for a list of schools that are likely to appreciate my application (my essays all lean more towards clinical/service/social justice-oriented schools) and aren't too much of a reach. How many hours of service orientation do you have in your gap year time (last 3 years): food distribution, shelter volunteer, job/tax preparation, legal support, transportation services, or housing rehabilitation? Exactly how does your program impact social justice (is it centered around a political cause)? Did you major in sociology or have you been involved with social work?

How many hours of service orientation do you have in your gap year time (last 3 years): food distribution, shelter volunteer, job/tax preparation, legal support, transportation services, or housing rehabilitation? Exactly how does your program impact social justice (is it centered around a political cause)? Did you major in sociology or have you been involved with social work?

The last 3 years would be ~200 hours of purely volunteering (mentor for youth leadership organization, helps teenagers plan their own food/clothing drives in their communities). My full-time education job during my gap years (~3000 hours) is at a STEM nonprofit that aims to make science/medicine more accessible to all, in which I've developed an additional workforce development program to get adults with barriers to work (recent immigrants, language barriers, lack of education) into entry-level science jobs. Major was health science with a public health focus, no specific involvement with social work.
