yo i took my dat last june, got a AA of 20, TS 21 and PAT 19. I applied to so many schools, about 31 to be exact. I have had no interviews yet, and i applied in last august. I know its not that early, but it really isn't that late either. My gpa is about a 3.03, and sGPA 3.13, thing is I have a 3.8 this past three semesters, in order to raise it up to that. My dat was overall a 20.4, which means one more point in any section would have made me havea 21. but realisitically since i was so close to a 21, and technically if i got a 20.6 i would havea had a 21. honestly does my 20 look that much different than a 20.6, which is a 21? thats why im thinking if i should retake it. i really would prefer not to. my break down for originial was.

I think your gpa is hurting you. It's probably best to do a masters program or take some more classes as post-bac.

If you feel confident about retaking the dat I say go for it. If you have more scores in the 20s it will help you tremendously in the next cycle. Plus, you don't need to apply to +30 schools in the following cycle if you raise your gpa and a get a higher dat score.

good luck!

well with your current GPA, you probably need a 22, probably even a 23+ to be considered. Your sciGPA is the one thats hurting your chances. I would just recommend taking more upper level science courses to just do what your doing the past 3 semesters and boost that sGPA up to at least a 3.3. Good luck!

IMO, in addition to think about retaking, it is not bad idea double check other part of your application like PS, LORs, volunteer work and..... plus having upper level biology courses. For me, doesn't make sense you didn't have any interview. good luck

i agree that your sgpa is low, but so is mine and i got 2 interviews and my dat is lower than yours I also applied in mid August and if I had applied earlier i think i would have gotten more interviews. personally, i would not retake. Im not saying that your sgpa is ok, but I think your current DAT scores make up for it.

I would look into other parts of your application (EC's, LOR, Volunteer...) and apply really early

Im really suprised with that DAT score and 33 schools you did not get an interview. again, not saying your sgpa is ok, just saying i dont think that is it with applying to that many schools...

good luck and God bless

Your DAT score is fine. If you continue to get a 3.8 GPA, you will receive some interviews - maybe not this cycle, but they will come. I was in a similar situation to you, and I was accepted this cycle. It just took a lot of perseverance, but if this is what you want to do, then do it. I understand the frustration and anxiety. I don't think your DAT score is hindering your application nearly as much as your GPA - the schools want you to prove to them that you can maintain those grades. Best of luck, and keep your chin up.

I would improve other things.

My DAT is similar to yours (20 AA 20 PAT.... etc) and my GPA is pretty similar as well.

I agree with the person that said tot ake a look at yoru LOR, PS, and other aspects. Your DAT is pretty good.

Also, maybe your RC is hold ing you back? In my mind I claim thats the reason I got my interviews... adn I have HEARD (via SDN) that RC is very important. Maybe call teh schools and see what they didn't like about your application.

But a retake may not be necessary....
