I'm a senior, biology major, and next semester will be my last. I only need to take 1 more class to graduate. I got a C+ in physics 1 and a C in physics 2. I got an F on the first exam. On the other 3 exams my score improved steadily increased to an A on the final but I was only able to get a C+ in the class. In physics 2, I neglected the early material for other classes and ended up with a C.

I was originally planning to take the MCAT this year so I restudied most of the material that was covered in both classes. (However, I have since decided to take 2 gap years and will take MCAT in 2015)

I only need to take 1 class next semester to graduate, so I was wondering if I should retake physics 1, physics 2, plus the one class I need to graduate. Or I could take the one class I need to graduate plus other upper level bio classes or electives to fill space.

If you truly feel you can improve your grade by retaking the classes, then do it.

What's you're GPA? If above 3.3 I don't think its necessary but it will be good if you can get an A on the retake.

About 3.4-3.45 overall. Barely 3.3 major GPA

Your GPA is around the average of DO schools. If your MCAT is strong you will be ok. But if you feel you can get an A it will help. Just don't spend all your time retaking classes.

With your GPA, I'd assume the majority of your other pre-reqs are in the B+ to A range? I wouldn't retake unless you really want to and you think you can do better. If there are other classes that you'd rather take because you would find them more interesting, do that. It's your last chance.
