Hey guys, I'm looking for some advice here.

I took the DAT 2 weeks ago and got a 21 AA but 17 in orgo. All my other sections are 21-24. I'm thinking about reviewing a bit over the semester (w/biochem + physics courses), studying over winter break (1 month), and retaking the test at the end because that 17 in a science section is little scary, even with a competitive GPA (3.8). Do you think I should try to retake it?

Thanks!

With a 21 and a 3.8 you are perfectly fine. Retaking the DAT with a 21 is very risk and not worth it in my opinion.

Don't do it. Breathe. Live yo lyfe.

Seriously, though. You're in good shape. I had the same GPA and lower DAT score and got in 2/4 schools. Notice I also only applied to 4 schools, I'm assuming you're applying to more than that.

Were they your state schools? Did you get a 17 in any of the sciences? My state school says I should retake because of that.

Your are fine, we don’t use orgo in dental school.

They were New England schools and I do live in New England. I'm not sure if BU gives preference to New Englanders.

You are fine, look at the rest of your scores! You did awesome. A possible retake if your GPA was lower, but man 3.8! Just believe in yourself and apply
