I will be doing an informal post bac this fall. I got a C in microbio and i was wondering if I should retake it because its an upper division biology class.

You probably should, microbiology is a pre requisite for Houston. Also, for the post bac it will be nice to take courses all similar to first semester of dental school. Which also includes microbiology, biochemistry, cell biology, anatomy and physiology.

Ehh I'd retake it if you want to. Did your struggle in the subject or were you just not into it? Have stuff going on that affected your performance? If you feel like you didn't try your best and you can definitely do better then retake. I had 2 Ws in phys/anatomy for personal reasons. The only discrepancy on my transcript. I had aced every other course in college especially the more difficult upper division courses. Since I knew those classes were not difficult I went ahead and retook them. I figure a C is a similar situation. Hope that helps.

I wouldn't retake. I know in undergrad for me unless you got below a C it was almost impossible to retake a class. Instead of retaking it, just take another course relative to the dental field (immunology, physiology, biochems, neuroscience, anatomy) and score an A in that!

I think so too.
So far, I'm signed up for A&P 1, embryology, and I'm still waiting to talk to my adviser to take micro.
A total of 12 hours for this fall since each bio class requires a lab.

Frankly, I just could not relate to the professor's teaching. I had a hard time with him and I felt like I truly did not learn the material.
