Hello, quick summary about me. I have a 3.6 overall gpa, 3.45 sgpa, 503 MCAT with 125 in every section but CARS. 3 leadership positions in college, 350 shadowing hours, 1000 non-clinical volunteering, and 600-700ish clinical volunteering hours, and a research assistant with senior thesis for 3 years. I have applied very broadly for DO Schools and am currently in a post bac. VCOM and DMU COM have said they want to see my fall semester grades and may send me an invite after. I have had interviews at UPKYCOM and NSU KPCOM. NSU just said I was placed on the alterante list post interview, I am very intested in attending and was wondering if a letter of intent could improve my chances? Also, should I be sending update letters to schools now or wait until my fall grades come out? I'm just very nervous because I feel like my stats and experienced should have garnered a little more attention.
How would you interpret a nonbinding promise from a desperate applicant?

Here’s one Adcom member’s thoughts on the matter:

“We only invite amazing students to interview. It is quite unlikely that further good deeds or achievements will have an effect since only the students who have already wowed us are interviewed.”

Updates are not indicated until you have a semester of good grades.
