should I start buying disability insurance as a student? I heard it's better to buy it earlier so premium will be cheaper later on. But would buying it as a D1 be too early? Thanks

Disability insurance is part of the fees we pay at my dental school. It's just a small policy. I believe it pays $1000 per month for D1 and the monthly payout increases each dental school year. For D3 and D4, they recommend you increase the coverage amount based upon your own financial investment into dental school at that time. Don't know if this type of insurance is part of the fee structure elsewhere.
