Is it worth my time to begin and submit SURF applications as a current junior? Most of them are due within a month (or less) and I did not think to apply sooner. I haven't asked for LoRs yet either, and my past research experience isn't really that strong in my opinion. Would it be a waste of time to work on these applications given how competitive they are? Wouldn't most competitive applications already have their applications submitted by now too?
