should I take a 2nd W and keep a gpa of 3.5 or get a GPA of 3.44 without a 2nd W?

It turned out the professor is horrible for orgo lab II, I can probably get a B or B+ in it if I do not drop it, and by doing so my gpa goes down to 3.44 (noting I will be applying to dental schools right after this semester).

Or, should I drop the lab, get a 2nd W (first W I had in community college where I retook the course and got an A) and by doing so I get to apply with a gpa of 3.5. please help 🙁

I am not sure how it is for dental schools, but over in the pre-med world, a W looks worse than a B or B+. Put in as much effort as you can is the best advice I can give you!

Either way, good luck... organic II lab can suck the life right out of you!

A B or B+ is not bad at all. You still have future semesters to help you recover your GPA.

Depends on the admissions committee. The previous Dean of Admissions at MWU told me straight up "It's a numbers game." Meaning he only looks at GPA and DAT. He couldn't care less about letters of rec, EC, etc. However, he is gone and it is a different story now at MWU. However, I'm sure if he feel that way, other will too.

No wonder he's gone. Sounds like a POS.

I had to W's, and got into 2 dental school. I, however, absolutely HAD to withdraw. Getting a B is not the worst to happen to you. and your GPA will still be decent. IF you haven't taken the DAT yet, make sue to put as much effort into it. 3.44 GPA isn't horrible. Best of luck!
