Curious on other pre-med's opinions -

I'm a non-trad Texas resident applying to all Texas and some out of state private schools. I ended up with a 3.3 undergrad gpa off of 93 credit hours because AAMC counted most of my stuff as graduate. I have a 30 MCAT and super strong ECs and great letters of rec. If I take 4 classes and get A's in them I can raise my GPA to a 3.5. Should I bother to take classes this fall or hope my 3.3 can carry me through?

I think having some graduate classes will help. The GPA is low but it's not horrible. Your MCAT is average as well. I'd say with your graduate level classes an great EC's you should be fine and be considered an average applicant. Just apply broadly and also add some DO schools for a safe net.

i think you should take those classes and work hard to get A's. a 3.5 gpa looks much better to me than a 3.3 (i mean they're similar, but sometimes you get weeded out automatically) + med schools care a lot about rising trends. if you took a full load and did well in them all, it would certainly be helpful for admissions.
