Major: Psychology

sGPA: 3.6
cGPA: 3.79
DO sGPA: 3.76

ORM (Asian Indian)

Research:
- 400 hours socio-psych research with poster presentation
- 200 hours Eating Disorder research

Clinical Volunteer:
- 200 hours hospital volunteering

Non-clinical Volunteering:
- 200 hours crisis text line volunteer

Others:
- TA for positive psych 2 semesters

Potential issues:
- Took p/f biochemistry (fall 2021)
- Withdrew physics 2 summer 2020 but retook it and got an A
- C in Calc during high school 2018 dual enrollment. It’s why my sGPA for MD is lower

Should I take the MCAT, do shadowing and apply 2022 cycle or should I take a gap year? How can I improve my application?

how many hours can you bump your ECs to if you apply next May? I think your app looks fine depending on your school list but taking a gap year and making sure your app is 100% ready is also a good choice - I'm a reapplicant who definitely wishes they waited that year out. Only issue potentially would be your non-clinical volunteering - I think something in person would be better.

Do you have any non-clinical community service volunteering experience where you are directly working with people who are in need, especially those with backgrounds that are not similar to your own?

Can you be more specific with your 'hospital volunteering"?
