Hello Everyone,

I am a current post-bachelor student (informal) and I have been taking post-bachelor classes and been doing well in them. I have been receiving all A's up until this semester and right now I have 3 A's and a C or D in a Developmental Biology course. I was going to take a W and withdraw from the course just do that it doesn't damage all of the post-bachelor work I have done so far but now after contacting the professor it is a WF that will be recorded rather than a simple W. Now I am lost as to whether I should take a WF or try to finish out the course and raise my grade. There are 2 exams left. The material is EXTREMELY boring and irrelevant. When I registered for the course I assumed it was a course similar to embryology but instead it is about spiders, frogs, mice, etc. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but "WF" is considered a "fail" grade that does have an impact on GPA (0.00). In this case, the choice of getting a C is the rational one.

Suck it up, learn the "boring" material, and get a better grade. If you're in a postbacc you should have learned by now that you can't just refuse to learn something because it's not the most interesting subject. Grow up.

Thanks a lot for your useless reply, I know I can't refuse to learn something because of the subject matter. Does it make you feel special or something talking down to people? Maybe you're the one who should grow up.

No you grow up! No you! Make me! (what I'm picturing)

But on a serious note, TPM is a god, take the advice 🙂

WF is counted as a failure, or F, or 0 on the 4.0 scale.

You got no choice here. You have to stick it out and raise your grade.

Your original post implied that you were doing poorly because the material was boring. Getting the equivalent of an F in a course because the material is boring seems illogical to me.
