I'm going into my Junior year and recently changed my major from Molecular Bio > Sociology instead. I did this because i felt like all the science electives and extra classes not needed for med school would hurt my gpa cause of the slow start my first 2 years. Staying a 5th yr.
So right now my GPA is below a 3.0 but not far below. I was planning on taking the MCAT after my 5 years and using a gap year, but then i remembered the change in 2015, so i'm not sure.
So my question is, knowing that i will be staying that 5th year and with the MCAT changing in 2015, i would really rather take the normal mcat and not the new one coming out. So should I:
A: Study for the MCAT after Spring 2014 and take it at the end of summer in august, where my GPA will most likely be around a 3.4c and 3.3s, then apply.
B: Graduate in 2015 and take my time with studying and EC's, but have to be one of the first ones taking the new mcat style, with a higher gpa though, hopefully around 3.55c 3.4s, then apply.
C: Same idea as option A, BUT after i take the MCAT in the summer 2014, if i am happy with the score, i just continue taking classes another year for 2015 to boost GPA and apply after the 5 years and save the MCAT score. Also, giving me a chance to retake if i must, but with the new styled MCAT
So hopefully you guys have a general idea of my situation after all i've said lol, so any input is much appreciated!! Thanks
