Should I update the schools that my LOR has been submitted?

Hey you guys,

My prof just submitted the last LOR I needed. Should I contact the schools and let them know or just wait until its mailed out?

Also, some schools have my app as "complete" despite the fact that my LOR wasn't sent in yet. Should I be worried? (Other then that my app is super late in the cycle?)

IMO, notifying the schools can't really hurt, but won't exactly help either. I do know some schools look at your application without letters (like Nova, for one), but this happened to me too; my application status said complete for some schools that I knew for a fact that required letters before review. Don't really know why, though. So I'd say send the email saying that it's on its way and sit tight...
