Hey everyone,
I'm currently a junior who had a terrible second semester sophomore year. Anyway, it brought my GPA down to a 2.75. I did some calculations, and by the end of this current year I can bring my GPA up to ~3.1. That's assuming the programs I apply to average the grade of repeated courses. If they accept the new grade, then my GPA would be considerably higher.

I'm looking to get into a master's program for school psychology. What I'm wondering is if I would be better served applying at the end of my senior year and then just working in the interim--or if my application could be competitive enough to apply at the end of this current year.

I also plan on taking summer classes, which would improve my GPA as well. I'm just not sure what grades the programs will be seeing.

Also, on an unrelated note (I read through the school psychology thread and wasn't able to really find an answer for this) is it possible to complete a master's with certification in School Psychology and then obtain a PsyD or PhD in Clinical Psychology? Ideally I would love to be able to practice both but I don't know if that's possible or not.

I hope the above isn't too confusing. I'll be talking to someone in the psychology department at my university about this as well, but I figured I'd ask here, too.

You'd be better served to go to a duel program so you can get training in both. It seems that states may be leaning more towards a specialist degree for school psych (though many still have MS as the entry level degree).
