Hey dents!!

I'm worried about submitting my app late and how it will affect my chances of getting an acceptance. My transcripts are verified but I haven't submitted my app yet.

I did some SDN sleuthing and read that AADSAS can take 6 weeks to process and 2 weeks to mail to schools. So if I submit next week, my app might not get onto the ADCOMs' desks until early October 😱

Is this considered late?

FYI, I got a 20 AA, 21 TS, and 18 PAT (including 17 QR) and a 3.47 sci/ 3.56 overall gpa. And I reallyyy want to go to Tufts, even though I know it's baddd to focus on one school. 😍

Should I wait?

Two Qs that have come up...

1. Should I list SMDEP under academic enrichment and dentistry experience or just academic enrichment?? We spent some time in the sim lab/ shadowing. Does it look weird to list something twice?

2. I'm a little confused about how schools get my DAT scores. I took it July 2010 and yesterday (lol). Do I need to submit my scores to schools or is it automatic? Just want to make sure....

I think you should go ahead and apply, you have good stats. If you have your GPA verified already then you should be good, i dont think the ADcom will get your app in october, more like mid september if not earlier. I say do it!!! But make sure you apply o 10+ schools to increase your chances to getting an interview. 🙂 good luck 🙂

i would most definitely go for it this cycle! apply to a good number of schools and you should be solid!

Don't sweat it. I'm in a similar boat. I haven't submitted ANYTHING yet because I am polishing up my personal statement and waiting for an enrolment date for my transcript (need to sign up for one class tmrw so it shows up). Remember that often acceptances don't go out until December, so if schools manage to receive all your stuff by September/Oct, you could interview in November and be accepted in December! Keep your hopes high!

I feel like my list is a bit top heavy. But these are all schools I would be very happy to attend school/location wise. Anything else I should apply to? 😕 I'm a state resident of MA.

An extra year off would be agonizing, trust me! Apply this cycle. You are not too late in the game.
