So I am retaking the MCAT on 9/9. My AMCAS has been verified and letters have been sent in and on the system. I'm looking at all of these secondaries but I don't know when I should send them in. Before I get my score back? Or wait? I mean most schools wont look at my application without that score right? I resubmitted my amcas so that it reflects my intention of retake. SDN give me some advice please 🙂

Loves you.

It would help to know what the first MCAT score and subscores were and how confident you are that the second score will be higher.

Sending in the Secondary (and paying the fee) without knowing if you're competitive at that particular school seems like quite a gamble if you need to be careful with your application dollars. Are any of them time-limited?

Well I got a P11, 7V, and 12B. I know that I can improve on the verbal, I always averaged around 10 on the AAMCs. I assume that day was a fluke. I've also been studying for the other sections too so I do not believe my scores will go down. 11 and 12 are also my averages too. Most school applications are in mid-Oct (i'm pretty sure). I wish secondaries weren't so expensive.

Given that you are retaking from a 30 and are confident of improvement, I would submit the secondaries ASSUMING that it will not hinder your preparation for your next MCAT. Do not let secondaries get in the way of your MCAT! There is plenty of dead time between taking the test and receiving your score which is a great time to have finished all of your secondaries. But if you find yourself free/able then submit away!
