Greetings everyone.
I'm currently applying for this year's MSTP cycle, and I just submitted my application last week.
So yeah, i know that's a bit late, but I felt that since i'm soooo close to getting that research data out, I might as well wait for it so that I can have something to talk about on my essays. Well, that result turned out to be more elusive than i expected, and seeing that September is approaching, I went ahead and submitted my application without it.
Well, I just hit my gold mine this week, and I obtained some pretty interesting results. My advisor believe that its publishable along with the new assay I've developed.
My question is whether I should cancel my application and wait for next year. I've been reading this forum for a while, and I feel that I won't be a competitive applicant without those results.
My research experience is probably a little less than most, consisting of just two semesters and a summer, but i'm also graduating a year early, hence the shorter available time frame. I also don't have any clinical experience, since I've been working in my lab like a mad man and simply don't have time for that. In terms of raw numbers, I have a 39 on my MCAT and a 3.75 GPA, but my writing score is a L. I kinda ignored that section since I assume I'm a competant writer won't have any trouble on it. Big mistake. ( 😡 30 minutes is shorter than i expected.)
What you guys think?
