Should it bother me that my fiance will be an MS2 when I am an MS1?
Of course I am incredibly greatful, I asked her to marry me. I asked the question only half seriously. I'm not a male chauvinist but ya know there is the part of me that wants to be the one thats like 'Look babe I've been there, this is how its done.'
It's posts like this that make me wish SDN had a 'bitch slap' smiley. At the same school? Hey she put the idea in my head and now Im thinking about it...
I would hope he already knows his fiancee's anatomy quite well......Anatomy should be interesting.

That's the beauty of Christianity....there's this little thing called forgiveness.....He'll go to hell if he has premarital sex. Just sayin'.

This is my philosophy in life:

Consider me converted. That said, I think having your fiance in the same room is a great bonus. Just think of all the study rooms and cramped aisles in the library that are just waiting to be christened.

Only if you have inferiority-complex issues and are unable to cope with the possibility of being a male in a compromised or otherwise submissive role 🙄
My wife's an attending. No complaints here.
I was thinking that the residency match w/ one of them being stuck still in med school would be difficult... that's all. Should have clarified.
Honestly, the whole seniority position deal should be a non-issue, if it is, you probably have deeper problems you need to work on...

Sounds like a dream proposal. Could be worse though: think Jumbotron.Of course I am incredibly greatful, I asked her to marry me. I asked the question only half seriously.
How is that not male chauvanism?I'm not a male chauvinist but ya know there is the part of me that wants to be the one thats like 'Look babe I've been there, this is how its done.'
Yes, I don't believe in that part of his philosophy- namely I despise womanizers, and refuse to engage in such activity.Who proposes half-seriously? Or did you mean you asked the question here half-seriously?
Is he the guy with the website of all his conquests?

My gf will be MS3 when I am MS1 and I might end up at same school as her.
Anytime they start to get feisty and pull the MS card on you, just retire the little general for a while and they'll learn the folly of their ways.
This could almost be miscontrued as reading that you only asked her to marry you half seriously... I am just sayin'
Edit: Yes tucker max "i hope they serve beer in hell" is a new york times best seller and honestly quite hilarious.
I know a guy who went to my undergrad with his girlfriend and they both started med school together. However, he didnt end up doing too well and had to repeat alot of his M1 year while she moved on to M2 year. AND shes nearly 3 years younger than he is. But he never really makes an issue of it. He accepts things as he is, was able to pick himself up, and now were both 2nd years and doing fine. All that means is that for one year, shell be a doctor and he wont. And after that, there wont even be any distinction.
My favorite quote from him was when he was talking about hooking up with a really stupid girl, he goes "the smartest thing to ever come out of her mouth was my d*ck"
hahahahaaaaaaa that one always makes me chuckle

This probably would have been helpful advice for the OP... nine years ago. Congratulations on starting med school.Dude... mine is about to start her 4th yr of surgery residency and I'm an incoming M1. Also, she is an MD and I will be a DO. It hasn't bothered me in the least (except for the logistics of it all, but not applicable in your case. Just be thankful you'll be at the same school).
🤣 the heck did I just read. Are these the problems pre-meds had back in '06?
